Global equity indexes are pointing in different directions currently after US stocks closed sharply lower on Friday following weak economic reports. Alphabet shares plunged 4.9% underperforming market amid reports AI search rival Genspark has raised $100 million to compete with Google, Nvidia shares slumped 4.0% on Friday.

Forex news

The Dollar has resumed weakening presently. The live dollar index data show the ICE US Dollar index, a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six rival currencies, ended 0.3% higher on Friday.

Both GBP/USD and EUR/USD reversed their advancing on Friday while SP Global reported euro area private sector activity expansion continued in February. Both euro and Pound are higher against the Dollar currently. USD/JPY slowed its retreating and AUD/USD reversed its advancing on Friday with the yen lower against the dollar and Australian dollar higher against the Greenback currently.

Stock Market news

US stock indexes futures are rising currently after selling off on Friday as data showed US services industry activity fell to a 25-month low, while a University of Michigan survey of consumer sentiment tumbled nearly 10 per cent from January. The three main US stock benchmarks recorded daily losses in the range from -2.2% to -1.7% on Friday led by tech shares.

European stock futures are mixed currently after closing mixed on Friday as Germany headed into its election weekend. Asian stock indexes futures are mostly up today with Australia’s ASX 200 index leading gains while tech shares sold off ahead of Nvisia's quarerly report on Wednesday.

Commodity Market news

Brent is steady currently. Prices ended lower on Friday as global supply concerns eased with Mideast ceasefire in place. US West Texas Intermediate WTI lost 2.87% and is lower currently. Brent fell 2.67% to $74.43 a barrel on Friday.

Gold Market News

Gold prices are steady currently. Prices retraced down on Friday: spot gold slipped 0.1% to $2936.26 an ounce.
